The Villarreal midfielder continued to astound fans with his exquisite piece of skill that set up Villarreal's second goal against Valencia.

Santi Cazorla continued his career renaissance with a piece of skill right from the top shelf as his beautiful touch set up Gerald Moreno for a brilliant volleyed goal.

For the last two years of his time at Arsenal it looked like Cazorla's career would come to a sad end, especially for such a hugely talented player.

But, back at Villarreal for the third time in his career, the 35-year-old has proved that his career was far from over with a series of wonderful performances in the past two seasons.

On Sunday he was back at it again with a marvellous first touch cushioned pass, off a route one pass from the keeper, to set up Moreno, who hit the perfect volley home.

Cazorla's injury with Arsenal saw him get an incredible eight surgeries on the achilles tendon and ankle area and he even contracted gangrene at one point.

He was told at one point he would never run again and eventually left north London in 2018 having played just 11 times in his final two seasons at the Etihad.

The two time Euros winner returned to Villarreal, initially to train, and played his first game in over 600 days in a preseason friendly ahead of last season, finally signing for the club on August 9th 2018.

His form for Villarreal last season earned him a recall to the Spain squad and he made his first appearance for the national team in over four years against Faroe Islands last June.

He hasn't dipped in form this season either with eight goals and now eight assists in La Liga as Javier Calleja's side have reached sixth in the league, helped by Cazorla's assist in the 2-0 win over Valencia this weekend.

Cazorla is set to make an announcement on his future sometime soon and it's not known whether he'll carry on past the end of the season, with touches like the assist on Sunday you'd think there's plenty of time and skill left in him yet.
