Santi Cazorla's Official Unveiling At Villarreal Is Our New Favourite Thing

All unveilings should be like this...

After earning a contract with his former employers, Santi Cazorla was officially unveiled as a Villarreal player once again this evening and it was all kinds of crazy.

Though the Spaniard did have the usual ceremony in his full kit in front of 4500 fans, it was anything but your average unveiling.

The 33-year old was on the pitch in a glass tube filled with smoke in what looked like a scene from a horror movie where a scientific experiment goes seriously wrong.

However, a bloke in a waistcoat works his magic and before you know it the smoke fades and Cazorla becomes visible.

The capsule is then opened and Santi is out to wave at the Villarreal fans who have turned up to see him. t's utterly mental but as far as unveilings go, it's well and truly set the bar.

Cazorla, meanwhile, had been training with Villarreal following his release from Arsenal.

His last competitive game for the Gunners was in October 2016 after he was forced to undergo several operations and a skin graft from his arm to fix the achilles tendon injury he sustained during Arsenal's 6-0 win over Ludogorets.

These operations meant that the 33-year-old lost eight centimetres from the tendon in his right ankle and doctors proceeded to tell the Spaniard that he is lucky to be able to walk in the garden with his son.

But Cazorla was offered the chance to join Villarreal for pre-season and made his return to action 636 days on from his last Arsenal appearance, in a pre-season friendly against Hercules.

And after impressing, he has now bagged himself a one-year contract and a third spell with the Yellow Submarine. Here's hoping the little magician can put his injury nightmare behind him...
