Croatia, the 2018 World Cup finalists, will clash with three-time European champions Spain in a mouthwatering Euro 2020 last-16 tie on Monday evening.

Croatia are aiming to reach the European Championship quarter-finals for the first time in 13 years - but face a well-drilled Spain side in red hot form.

The Croats finished third in Group D after a win against Scotland in their final game, but questions remain after a 1-0 loss to England and a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in their opening fixtures.

Spain, meanwhile, misfired earlier in the group stages, but concluded with a 5-0 thrashing of Slovakia - and, as a result, Luis Enrique will now hope he has found something of a winning line-up in the attack.

The winners from this evening's game will face either France or Switzerland in St Petersburg, so regardless of which nation makes it through, the tough games are only just beginning.

La Roja are bidding to win a fourth European Championship, which would make them the most successful team in the history of the tournament - currently level on three trophies with Germany. Can they do it? Perhaps.

With the knockout stages now underway, our tipster Robert Mann takes a look at some of the best bets from Croatia vs Spain to get your teeth stuck into.

Croatia vs Spain betting tips & predictions

Croatia are 11/2 to win, with Spain priced at 8/15 to come away with the victory. A draw is priced at 29/10.

Prediction: 1-3 (12/1)

Both teams to score: Yes (6/5)

There have been plenty of goals in recent times between these two sides, especially when you take into account Spain's dominating 6-0 triumph in their first Nations League clash back in September 2018.

The Croats would then go on to seek revenge, however, with a 3-2 win in the same competition a few months later.

This showdown may not produce quite as many goals as those two, but when you take into account the quality that both sides boast, there should be plenty of action at both ends this evening.

With that said, both teams to score sounds like a certainty, doesn't it?

First Goalscorer: Alvaro Morata (10/3)

Alvaro Morata has not always hit the heights expected of him, but he got off the mark against Poland in the second group game - and we're backing him to draw first blood for Spain this evening.

The 28-year-old, who has received death threats over his current form, missed a penalty against Slovakia on Wednesday, but seemingly has the full support of manager Luis Enrique.

And with this summer's showpiece now coming into its business end, Morata - likely to retain his position in the middle front three tonight - will be more than aware that his eye for goal will need to improve if Spain are to progress into the quarter-finals and beyond.

Request A Bet: Morata & Ferran Torres 1+ shots on target each (10/11)

Spain's main concern may be lacking elite quality in front of goal, but their 5-0 thrashing of Slovakia might prove that their new-look side is only just getting warmed up.

Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres are likely to give the Croatian defence a headache this evening

Morata has not been in the finest form as of late, but we're tipping him to step up to the big occasion tonight and he is an absolute given to have at least one shot on target.

Meanwhile, Manchester City's Ferran Torres should be lively on the wing for La Roja, too - and we reckon the pair could give the Croatian defence a bit of a headache.

Croatia team news

In an attacking 4-3-3 formation, Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic are likely to line up again as the midfield trio.

In a big blow for the Croats, Zlatko Dalic will be unable to call upon Ivan Perisic, who has tested positive for coronavirus, giving Ante Rebic the opportunity to feature.

Nikola Vlasic was brought into the starting side for the clash with Scotland and justified his selection with a goal - and, as a result, is likely to retain his spot.

Sime Vrsaljko will be hoping to win back the right-back position from Josip Juranovic, but it could otherwise be an unchanged team aside from Perisic.

Spain team news

Cesar Azpilicueta could keep out Marcos Llorente to feature at right-back once again.

However, there might be a change in the back four with Pau Torres potentially replacing Eric Garcia to start alongside Aymeric Laporte.

Ferran Torres and Thiago are both expected to miss out on positions in the starting line-up, despite impressing off the bench against Slovakia.

Elsewhere, Alvaro Morata is likely to retain his position in the middle of the front three, while Villarreal talisman Gerard Moreno could also be given the nod in an attacking area.
