Most Valuable Promotions partner Nakisa Bidarian has made a wild claim about Jake Paul after Anthony Joshua's fight against Kristian Prenga.

Joshua came away wiping the sweat off his brow after beating Prenga on Saturday night.

Seven months on from sustaining injuries in a car crash that killed two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, AJ wanted to produce a statement performance after watching Tyson Fury beat Mariusz Wach via a seventh-round TKO in Thailand the night before.

But the 36-year-old got off to a nightmare start when he was knocked to the canvas inside 20 seconds after being caught by a powerful right from Prenga, and then was knocked down again later in the round.

A long-awaited fight against Fury was hanging by a thread at this point before Joshua delivered a brutal combination that sent the Albanian through the ropes and ended the fight.

There was a sense of relief that AJ came through Prenga's early barrage, and the 35-year-old certainly provided a stern test for Joshua in the first round.

That being said, despite clawing himself off the canvas twice, MVP partner Nakisa Bidarian believes the manner of Joshua's win over Prenga proves that Jake Paul did well against the former unified champion.

"Jake Paul won more than the guy on Saturday night won," Bidarian - who heads up MVP alongside Paul - told Sky Sports News.

"He was in there for six rounds. That dude was out in two rounds, taking the same shots Jake was taking.

"I'm very happy with his performance, not happy with the outcome, and didn't like that he broke his jaw, but the hardest shots on Jake Paul didn't do what they did to a heavyweight on Saturday."

Joshua knocked Paul out in the sixth round of their fight in December, landing a punch that broke his jaw.

The 'Problem Child' had to undergo surgery, have several titanium plates fitted and teeth removed, underlining how much power the Briton has.

Before being knocked out cold by AJ, though, Paul arguably gave a good account of himself, landing nine power punches from 22 attempts and doing well to avoid his punches for most of the fight.

So, it is easy to see why Bidarian has that viewpoint, but the 29-year-old didn't get close to knocking him down as Prenga did.

Jake Paul in talks to return to boxing

In May, Paul issued an update on his health and announced he may never fight again during an interview with combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani.

Fast forward two months, and the YouTuber-turned-boxer has already changed his mind, stating that his recovery has gone well and has vowed to continue fighting.

"I'm definitely still fighting; we are in talks right now with multiple opponents, and we're figuring out when to come back," Paul said.

"[Recovery is] good; I'm going to get cleared officially to spar in the next couple of weeks.

"So we are going to get back to it and continue fighting.

"Maybe I'll do some MMA; we got a lot of stuff coming with MVP soon.

"Big promotions, getting more into the MMA world. The feud between MVP and UFC continues."

Paul then went on to name former five-weight boxing world champion Terence Crawford and UFC cult hero Nate Diaz as his ideal opponents.
