Tyson Fury sends clear message to Anthony Joshua after Mariusz Wach win

Tyson Fury didn't hold back as he called out rival Anthony Joshua following his comeback win over Mariusz Wach.

It's no secret that a blockbuster heavyweight clash between Fury and Joshua could be set to finally take place later this year.

But before that, both men agreed to compete in a warm-up bout this month in order to prepare for what will no doubt be seen as a defining fight in their careers.

Joshua will face Albanian puncher Kristian Prenga at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night in what will be the first fight since he was involved in a tragic car crash in Nigeria that left him with minor injuries but killed two of his close friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami

Just over 24 hours piror, Fury competed in his second fight this year as he secured a dominant TKO win over Polish veteran Mariusz Wach in a behind-closed-doors charity fight in Pattaya, Thailand.

Should Joshua also be victorious in his upcoming fight, it is widely expected that the all-British clash with Fury will be confirmed shortly after, with the fight reportedly taking place later this year.

However, following his win over Wach, Fury admitted that he's 'not convinced' that the fight with Joshua will actually happen for one specific reason.

“I got through my test tonight. Let’s see if he gets through his test. The biggest test of it all is how big his balls are. I think he’s a big s***house," Fury claimed.

"In Tottenham in front of 70,000 people, he never had the guts to get in the ring and face me. Let’s see if he ever does. I’m not convinced."

Many fans had hoped that after his fight in Thailand, Fury would quickly jet off to Jeddah to face off against Joshua should his British rival come through Prenga as expected.

But Fury, who has spent two months training in Thailand with fellow heavyweight Joseph Parker as well as his 14-year-old son Prince, confirmed he has no such plans and will instead return to his home on the Isle of Man.

“Will I balls. I’ll go and face off with my wife," he jested. “I’ve been away the last six or seven months. I’m definitely not going to Jeddah. I’m going home to my wife and kids who have been supporting me from a distance.

"I’ve been away in training camp for 10 weeks. I was away before that for four months, so I’m going to go home and have a rest."

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua latest: When and where will the superfight happen?

Although the details of Fury v Joshua still remain unknown, it is widely expected that bout will take place towards the end of this year to give both men time to recover from their summer warmup bouts.

As it stands, it is believed that a date in November is most likely.

However, the big point of contention for the fight remains the venue, with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh demanding that the fight must happen at 4am BST in order to appeal to the US audience.

This makes it much more likely that the fight will instead take place outside of the UK, with Las Vegas the most likely destination after a mega event at Wembley was ruled out due to the stadium's 1am curfew.

But, if this is the case then Alalshikh will be forced back into negotiations with Fury and Joshua, as Matchroom boxing chief Eddie Hearn has claimed that part of the provisional contract for the fight states that it must take place in the UK.

"We've got a great relationship with Turki Alalshikh," the Matchroom promoter told BBC Sport.

"If he comes to me and says, I want to do the fight in America for this reason, we'll all be very disappointed because I don't think there's a person on the planet that doesn't think this fight should take place in the UK.

"But he's paying the bill and the bill is extortionate. Please find a way to make it work. So, if they want to change anything in the contract, we have to renegotiate the contract and start again."

Cardiff's 80,000-capacity Principality Stadium and the Aviva Stadium in Dublin have also been suggested as potential venues.
