Sergey Lapin has now issued a brutal response to Simon Jordan after he directed conspiracy claims towards Anthony Joshua following his win over Kristian Prenga.

Joshua returned to the ring on Saturday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, seven months after suffering moderate injuries in a car crash that killed two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

The former unified heavyweight champion arrived with the motivation of putting on a show against Prenga after Tyson Fury secured a seventh-round stoppage win over Mariusz Wach in a behind-closed-doors charity event in Thailand.

A victory for Joshua would guarantee that his highly-anticipated showdown with Fury would go ahead later this year, but there was a huge shock in the first round.

Joshua was knocked to the canvas inside 20 seconds after being caught by a powerful right from the Albanian, and then those worries ramped up even further when he was knocked down again later in the round.

An early scare and words of motivation from Sergey Lapin followed, and the Englishman was completely transformed in the second round, delivering a brutal combination that sent Prenga through the ropes and ended the fight.

Wild conspiracy theories emerged online instantly after the fight, essentially claiming that Prenga let Joshua win the fight.

Simon Jordan was the main architect of this viewpoint as he suggested that the fight was designed to 'rinse maximum amount of money'.

"Not having that… #anthonyjoshua fight ..: Dropped twice and sets the tempo, how’s that? … Prenga totally different in 2nd," Jordan wrote on X.

"Something not quite right, all designed to rinse maximum amount of money."

A defeat for AJ would have ruled out his clash against Fury once and for all, but even Prenga's team have denied the crazy theories being spread online, and now have Joshua's team.

Sergey Lapin's hilarious response to Simon Jordan after Anthony Joshua fight

Lapin, Joshua's trainer and Oleksandr Usyk's team director, has brutally dismissed Jordan's comments and while referenced one of his friends who "believes the Earth is flat".

“What do I think of Simon Jordan’s comments? I suppose they also told Prenga to walk straight into a punch that weighed one-and-a-half tonnes.

“Everyone is entitled to their own theories. I have a friend who still believes the Earth is flat and that space doesn’t exist.

“Personally, I’d rather discuss what actually happened inside the ring than someone else’s imagination.”

The suggestions have been rubbished, and for Joshua, it is just a moment of relief after some worrying moments.

Eddie Hearn even claimed that Joshua may have returned "too early" after watching him drop to the canvas twice, but no one can take away the delight he felt from experiencing that winning feeling.

All eyes are now on his showdown against the 'Gypsy King', with organisers hoping to finalise a date in November.

A fight is expected to take place on either November 7, 14, 21, or 28, but the location has arguably been the bigger talking point.

As it stands, Las Vegas is the most likely destination for the fight and Allegiant Stadium is the targeted venue.
