Mike Tyson suffering from rare health condition that can leave him 'unable to talk'

Tyson was recently photographed in a wheelchair.

Mike Tyson has revealed he is suffering from sciatica and the condition sometimes leaves him unable to speak.

Images of the boxing legend in a wheelchair at Miami International Airport emerged last month and he was also holding a walking stick.

Many were concerned for the 56-year-old's health and he's since revealed sciatica is the only health condition he currently suffers from.

'Iron Mike' told Newsmax TV: "I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. When it flares up, I can’t even talk! Thank God it’s the only health problem I have. I’m splendid now.

"Everybody in my house is truly blessed and we’re all very grateful for whatever we have."

Sciatica is when the sciatic nerve, located in your lower back, is irritated or pressed. Recovery time is said to be four to six weeks but it can take longer.

Tyson has suffered back issues throughout his career and stepped away from professional fights in 2005 due to injury.

He did return for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which ended in a draw.

'The Baddest Man on the Planet' recently claimed on his 'Hotboxin' podcast that his expiration date is 'coming really soon'.

He said: "We’re all gonna die one day of course. Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face.

"I say, 'Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.'"

Tyson recently linked up with wrestling icon Ric Flair for perhaps the strangest crossover of 2022.

Tyson and Flair became partners earlier this year in the former's 'Tyson 2.0' premium cannabis business.

A strain called the 'Ric Flair Drip' recently dropped and who better to test it out than the 'Nature Boy' himself.

Both men were in Chicago for the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference this week and delivered a message to fans on social media.

"Ric Flair drip, Mike Tyson's 2.0, go woo on a b*tch," Flair declared as Tyson laughed along in the background.
