Drew McIntyre Would ‘Up The Level Of Competition’ In NXT UK, Says Walter
Walter has welcomed the idea of Drew McIntyre leaving the main WWE roster and making the switch to NXT UK.
McIntyre, who is part of the Raw brand, has previously told SPORTbible that he has spoken to Triple H "all the time" about heading to NXT UK.
Speaking to SPORTbible in an exclusive interview ahead of NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff last Saturday, WWE UK champ Walter believes that he "could have a good contest" with the Scotsman.
When we asked the 32-year-old Austrian star if he wanted McIntyre on NXT UK, he responded: "Oh, for sure.
"Because somebody like him joining here would up the level of competition here and I think you need competition to grow. So, for sure [I would want him here]."
McIntyre said back in May that one man he would love to step in the ring with is none other than the 'Ring General.'
He explained: "There's a bunch of people I want to work with, but if we want to give people a show they won't forget, then I guess me and Walter would be quite the spectacle."
Triple H told SPORTbible in a conference call last Friday that he "would love" for the 'Scottish Psychopath' to show up in NXT UK.
The NXT founder and senior producer added: "I think that the opportunity when you see guys like Drew McIntyre talking about a brand, it's because that brand is hot.
"They see something that is on fire and we all live for the adrenaline rush of fans being wild and passionate about things.
"When a guy like Drew McIntyre says 'I see UK and I see it on fire and I want to step in a ring with Walter,' it's because he sees something special happening and he wants to be part of it."
Walter also revealed that he would welcome clashes with WWE legend Big Show and Cesaro, along with naming Daniel Bryan and Braun Strowman as opponents he would love to compete against.
