John Cena has revealed that he immediately shut down Triple H's plans for his final WWE match for reason.
In less than one month, Cena, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time, will compete in the final wrestling match of his storied career.
On December 13, the 17-time world champion will walk out for the final time at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
As it stands, Cena has three scheduled appearances left on his WWE retirement tour, so details on his final match are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

But the 48-year-old has spoken out to confirm that there was one pitch for his final match brought to him by WWE boss Triple H that he refused to sign off on.

Typically, a wrestler will end their career with a match against one of their former foes as a fitting nod to the body of work that they had put in during their WWE tenure.
But for perhaps the most beloved wrestler in WWE history, Triple H wanted to do something different and offered Cena a full two-hour John Cena tribute special on the Saturday Night Main Event show on December 13.

However, Cena has revealed that he quickly shot down the idea, suggesting instead that his farewell show be used as a way to bring eyes to the standout talent from NXT by matching them up with top WWE main roster stars.
“If you do a whole John Cena tribute, two things are going to happen,” Cena argued on Raw Recap.
“You’re either going to do too much or too little. You’re never going to please everybody.”
Instead, Cena wants to shine a spotlight on the next generation and ensure that fans are aware of the exciting future of the WWE.

"We have a sold-out building, hopefully the world is watching… I get to wrestle one final time, but in doing that, everyone also gets to look at what to look forward to," he continued.
“I think we can take the eyes that care about showing up to our show and expose them to the future.
“Yes, it’s my last match, but collectively we’re all closing a chapter of an era of sports entertainment, and I want people to look forward to what’s next.”
