WWE have banned all wrestlers from disgusting act on TV as Kevin Owens weighs in

WWE's ban on a spot that cannot be used in any circumstances has been revealed by recently returned superstar Kevin Owens.

After a lengthy absence following neck surgery which looked like it could end his career, Kevin Owens made a shock return at SummerSlam and became the No.1 contender for the undisputed WWE championship.

But the Prizefighter has been helping behind the scenes and has been involved in the latest season of LFG (Legends & Future Greats) - the WWE show which sees development talents compete for a contract.

While recovering from his neck surgery and being unable to wrestle, Owens joined the show as a mentor and coach alongside the likes of Bubba Ray Dudley, Natalya and Booker T.

He helped out the pairing of Harlem Lewis and Mike Derudder in their tag team bout with Harley Riggins and Jax Presley, coached by the legendary Booker T.

Riggins and Presley picked up the victory but there was huge controversy afterwards as one of the wrestlers spat on their opponents, who responded by flipping him off with his middle fingers.

Continuing the unscripted moment, Lewis hit Riggins and a fight very nearly broke out in front of all the fans in attendance.

A furious Lewis said: "They're beating our ass for the whole time, eight minutes of them kicking our ass and then they win. For this guy to spit on me and my tag team partner, you're not going to get away with that with me."

Not accepting any blame, Riggins claimed: "In this industry it's about eye-catching. If I stepped on anybody's toes, I don't think there's anything wrong with course correction but in the moment that felt like the right thing to do it and it happened.

Backstage, Booker T told told Lewis to "handle it like a man" and wait for him to come through the curtain.

Owens had been stunned by Lewis' revelation that he had been spit on. Lewis and Riggins continued their rivalry in the squared circle and the former wanted to use the spit as part of their story in the match.

While both wrestlers were in the ring, he pitched the idea of another spit taking place in the match before his "comeback" during a recent episode which aired.

However Owens instantly shut it down and told him that it was not allowed on TV in any capacity.

"Here’s the tricky part about that. We’re not allowed to spit on each other. That’s one of the things on TV—you can’t do it; they don’t want that,” Owens stated.

"I would play this match more based on: he’s a sc*mbag, he p*ssed you off last time, you felt disrespected, and now you’re going to make him respect you. It’s a very easy story to tell too."

Owens' latest story is a deeply personal one as after his triumphant SummerSlam return against Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Gunther, he is scheduled to face CM Punk for the WWE title.

The two have a long history and are known for having a strong real-life disdain for one another. Tempers flared when they came face-to-face on Smackdown as real-life, unscripted verbal jabs came out in a tense segment.

They will finally lock horns in the ring in Toronto on August 21.
