Wrestler Syko Stu has opened up on how the shocking attack from the son of a former UFC star has had a permanent impact on his health.
In August 2025, Skyo Stu, real name Stuart Smith, was taken into hospital with broken facial bones and lost teeth after being on the receiving end of a brutal assault from Raja Jackson, son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton 'Rampage'.
Raja Jackson was sentenced to 90 days in jail after Syko Stu attack
At Knokx Pro Wrestling's show in Los Angeles, California, Raja slammed Stu to the canvas and was then seen punching him at least 20 times in violent scenes captured like on his Kick stream.
The incident saw Raja go off script with the slam and ground and pound. He was planned to get involved in the match and have a physical altercation with Stu following a backstage interaction where the wrestler struck him with a beer can on the side of his head - later apologising after he became aware that he was not part of the performance.

Raja took matters in his hands and showed little remorse for his actions as he was escorted out with blood on his shirt.
He was arrested and charged, later pleading no contest to battery causing serious bodily injury and being sent to 90 days in jail - which he has now served.
Syko Stu breaks silence on how Raja Jackson's assault has impacted him
Stu was entitled to $81,000 as part of Raja's plea deal. But speaking in a first interview since the ordeal, the US army veteran has revealed he struggles with his memory on a daily basis after suffering. a severe traumatic brain injury."
Speaking on the SOS Podcast with Matt Rosa and Neno Torres, he explained: “I really had to relearn how to walk. I couldn’t walk after that for a while. I did have a severe traumatic brain injury. I lost two teeth. I shattered my maxilla. I know there’s more stuff, but I can’t remember off the top of my head. I was off work for an entire year.
"With a severe traumatic brain injury, my job is a lot of computer work. Just going to doctor’s appointments. I’m still waiting for dental to come through. They’re giving implants for those. I’m still continuing with the traumatic brain injury doctors. It’s an ongoing thing.
"My wife will tell me something and five minutes later I'll forget it. I'll do things multiple times because I don't remember that I did it.
"There's a lot of people that I just don't remember, faces or names."
Rampage had initially issued an apology on behalf of his son but then changed his tune, making a number of accusations about Stu - including that he was drunk and that he had a history of backstage issues.

That led to Stu rejecting a phone call from the film star.
“I didn’t have my phone the whole time I was in hospital," Stu said.
"My phone was going crazy. It took a while to go through all the messages, and I saw Rampage called and he wanted me to call him back, but then I saw him go on all these podcasts and was basically trashing me. I’m not going to call you back if you already made up your mind about me. I kind of let it go, but he was on different podcasts talking about me being drunk all the time. None of the statements from other people who actually know me would support that.”
Stu had expressed an interest in returning to wrestling despite being advised against getting back in the ring. But while he is capable physically, he is mentally unable to remember spots and sequences in matches.
Stu previously said he was "not holding a grudge" but did not confirm forgiveness. Asked if justice was served, he replied: "We might have to hold off on that one for now.”
