When AFC Wimbledon went 1-0 up at home against Sutton United in their FA Cup 3rd Round replay, no-one would have expected the sequence of events that followed.

Sutton, still trailing by a goal after 75 minutes, went on to win 3-1 for the privilege of hosting Leeds United in the Fourth Round.

At Gander Green Lane, The U's dispatched of The Whites thanks to a 53rd minute penalty and were rewarded with a dream home tie against Premier League giants Arsenal. Despite all of that, one man caught the eye more than anyone else.

Introducing Wayne Shaw, the 45-year old reserve goalkeeper that has taken the Internet by storm...

How did it feel seeing your face all over the Internet? Were you surprised by it all?

I've had quite a bit of exposure in the past but this is great banter and I'm enjoying every moment of it. I plan to enjoy it all right through until the game against Arsenal.

Sutton have had quite the journey so far but how did it feel when the final whistle went against Leeds and you'd secured a place in the FA Cup Fifth Round?

I was quite calm really knowing that the lads had given their all. It was a game that we wanted to enjoy and try to re-write history in. The real pressure game was the replay against AFC Wimbledon. The draw had already been made and we knew that there was a massive opportunity for a live TV game and a good pay day for the club.

How did you react when you saw Arsenal would be coming to Gander Green Lane?

All I can say is WOW. I was in the club house and there was a pause for what felt like an eternity when the ball was drawn. When it came out that we'd be playing Arsenal the noise blew the roof off, which is good really because it has so many leaks!

Do you think the Cup Run has helped Sutton's league form in their quest to avoid relegation?

You know what they say, winning breeds confidence. Our focus in every game is to have a plan and try our best to win every game no matter the opponent.

Would you rather beat Arsenal in the 5th Round or Win the National League?

Right now I'd rather beat Arsenal because our 3G pitch isn't permitted in the Football League at present.

Who is your footballing idol?

As a goalkeeper my idols are Peter Schmeichel and Edwin Van der Sar (who shares the same birthday as me). They're both incredible goalkeepers and top blokes. Outfield my favourite player was Matt Le Tissier, whilst the best I played against was Gianfranco Zola - he was a genius.

If you could have signed for one club in your career, who would it be and why?

I'd sign for any club that wanted me because it's a massive compliment that they think you're good enough to improve their team.

What are your predictions for this weekend's Premier League games?

I like the look of Chelsea at home to Arsenal in Saturday's early kick-off and I'm expecting routine wins for both Manchester clubs on Sunday afternoon.

Wayne's Treble returns £136 when you stake £10 and your free £30 using BetVictor's sign-up offer.

Finally; you've been compared to 'The Beast on Twitter, but who would win a fight?

The 'Roly-Poly Goalie' or Adebayo Akinfenwa? I reckon I'd win. The Beast is a lover, not a fighter.

You can find Wayne on Twitter at @WayneShaw70. Go and drop him a follow!

Sutton are next in action on Saturday in the FA Trophy against fellow National League side Boreham Wood. BetVictor make them 11/10 to pick up another cup win and 8/15 to qualify.
