A lucky punter turned 33p into over £22,000 this weekend after a 74,600/1 accumulator came through thanks to a 96th minute winner.

Thousands of football fans put on accumulators with crazy odds on every weekend, but few realistically expect them to ever come through.

While there are always safe bets to be had, accumulators don't yield mega odds unless you chuck a few rogue predictions in there.

The thrill and excitement that comes with the thought of winning is enough to tempt punters into putting small stakes on, but for one football fan, the thought became reality.

The punter put together a 13-match accumulator with William Hill this weekend, with the odds coming out at 74,600/1.

Like most people, they probably didn't expect much to come of it. But when they checked on Saturday evening they would have got a rather nice surprise when they saw their winnings of £22,380.08.

The bet consisted of matches in the Championship, League One and League Two, with the punter going for seven home wins, four away wins and two draws.

Some of the bets were safer than others - in-form Middlesbrough were always likely to beat Swansea while Bristol Rovers were comfortable favourites to see off League Two strugglers Forest Green.

However, some of the other best had a much greater element of risk to them.

Predicting that Barrow vs Sutton would end in a draw was a masterstroke, as they was just one shot on target in the entire game.

-Bristol City
-Birmingham
-Barrow/Sutton DRAW
-Doncaster
-Carlisle
-Middlesbrough
-Exeter
-Crawley
-Gillingham
-Newport/Bradford DRAW
-MK Dons
-Bristol Rovers
-Derby

One William Hill punter won a huge £22,380.08 from a £0.30p 13-fold accumulator at the weekend!

Meanwhile, in League One, Exeter came from behind to beat Lincoln 2-1 and keep the bet alive.

The real nail-biting drama was reserved for the County Ground, where Carlisle snatched a 96th-minute winner to beat Swindon 2-1 and ensure the bet came in.

Carlisle took the lead shorlty after half-time, but were pegged back with 10-minutes to go. Ryan Edmondson then scored the winner in the sixth minute of injury time to win the punter an extraordinary bet.

The full bet can be seen below, with the picks highlighted in bold.

Bristol City vs Blackpool – 17/20

Birmingham City vs Rotherham – 21/20

Barrow vs Sutton ( draw ) – 2/1

Doncaster vs AFC Wimbledon – 7/5

Swindon vs Carlisle – 29/20

Swansea vs Middlesbrough – 6/5

Exeter City vs Lincoln – 23/20

Crawley vs Harrogate – 8/5

Gillingham vs Tranmere – 6/4

Newport vs Bradford ( draw ) – 21/10
