Fans in disbelief at 'worst cashout' bet of all time after Real Madrid win the Champions League

They cashed out during Manchester United's FA Cup clash against Liverpool in March.

An unlucky punter missed out on more than £16,000 after they cashed out ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund.

Carlo Ancelotti celebrated winning a record fifth Champions League title on Saturday night as second-half goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr sealed a 2-0 win.

It was a great occasion for the Los Blancos faithful, but one fan must have been devastated by this weekend's unfolding events.

X user @cdurrans98 posted a screenshot of a six-fold accumulator featuring 2023/24 title predictions for League Two, League One, Championship and Premier League.

They correctly predicted all of the above along with the FA Cup and Champions League winners at odds of 3237.44/1.

But the person in question cashed out in the 86th minute of Manchester United's dramatic 4-3 win over Liverpool in March, just a minute before Antony equalised to make it 2-2.

The punter took home a total of £24.24, which ended up being a decent profit.

But two months later – after all six of the predictions came out on the £5 free bet – the projected amount totalled more than £16,100.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the bet.

One said: "Oofff, had some bad ones but that is a sickener. What's that 16 grand plus?"

A second wrote: "Profit is profit," while a third commented: "One of the worst cash outs I’ve seen."

A fourth added: "Yeah that’s the worst I’ve ever seen that."

In other news, a punter recently scooped a five-figure sum after he predicted every winner of England's top five leagues.

Manchester City became the first men’s team in the history of English football to win four consecutive top-flight titles after goals from Phil Foden [2] and Rodri secured a 3-1 victory over West Ham.

As a result of the Citizens finishing two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, X user Joe Briant won a serious amount of money from a five-fold bet with odds of 2136.15/1.

Firstly, the punter predicted Chesterfield's title win in the National League this season. Paul Cook's side stormed the league by 12 points, despite losing four of their last five games.

Then, he touted Stockport County to continue their rise by backing them to win League Two at 6/1.

John Mousinho's Portsmouth were crowned champions of League One; something Joe predicted ahead of their 3-2 win over Barnsley on April 16 – a game that ensured their return to the Championship.

And finally, Leicester City's much-anticipated return to the Premier League after a one-year absence completed a bet that netted the punter a very tidy sum of £10,802.
