Luke Littler will walk away with six-figure payday after becoming the youngest ever finalist at the PDC World Darts Championship.

The 16-year-old boy-wonder beat Rob Cross in the semi-finals after an incredible run at Alexandra Palace.

Littler knocked off Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding, Matt Campbell, Raymond van Barneveld and Brendan Dolan, achieving a level of superstar status.

The Runcorn teen's life has changed dramatically in a matter of weeks and he recently spent time with England star ar James Maddison in his box at Spurs.

And he has pocketed more money than any teenager in Cheshire.

He secured £50,000 in prize money with his insane win over five-time world champ Van Barneveld and then doubled it by thrashing Dolan in the quarters.

He was then £100,000 richer with a semi-final win over Rob Cross but despite losing the final to Humphries on January 3,

he secured a life-changing £200,000 as runner-up.

The grand prize for the overall winner is a whopping £500,000 - a quite breathtaking amount.

Littler remains unbelievably grounded despite his success and recently spoke about wanting to take his friends to Blackpool or Alton Towers.

"All my friends are watching at home," he said. "We've always said we need to go Blackpool or Alton Towers so I think they will be looking at me like 'you're paying, Luke' and I'll be like, yeah, okay!"

He had earned just £2,500 before the tournament but will now have more cash than any of us got in our Christmas gift cards.

When The Telegraph asked him the same prize money question, he did have a few other things on his list.

He admitted: “I always treat myself to some Under Armour tracksuits. And just get myself a new coat and get myself some Fifa points for my Xbox. That’s pretty much it.”
