Luke Littler opens up on how he will spend World Darts Championship prize money

The teenage Darts sensation has already planned a post-tournament trip to Alton Towers.

Darts sensation Luke Littler has already planned a post-tournament trip to Alton Towers as he prepares to receive a life-changing amount of money from this winter's World Championship.

The 16-year-old, from Runcorn, is guaranteed to earn £35,000 after recording wins over Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding and Matt Campbell on his way to the last 16.

Littler, who is the youngest player in history to reach this stage of the competition, will face either Jim Williams or Raymond van Barneveld on Saturday.

"He [Williams] beat me when I was 3-1 up so there is a bit of revenge there," he told talkSPORT. "But if Raymond can get over the line then it will be unbelievable to play him at the Alexandra Palace."

As well as discussing his next challenge, the teenager revealed his plans when it comes to spending the prize money.

He will pick up £50,000 if he secures a win in the next round and if he does the unthinkable by becoming world champion, Littler will receive a staggering £500,000 cheque.

So what will he spend the cash on? Rather than your typical suggestions, he just wants to go for a big trip to one of England's biggest theme parks.

"All my friends are watching at home," he said. "We've always said we need to go Blackpool or Alton Towers so I think they will be looking at me like 'you're paying, Luke' and I'll be like, yeah, okay!"

Littler, who had earned just £2,500 before the tournament in London got under way, opened up on his dream-like journey so far after beating Matt Campbell to reach the last 16.

He said: "I am incredibly proud of myself. I've just got off stage and saw my mum and just said the dream continues because it is still on.

"Obviously, everyone thinks about winning the Worlds. I was only thinking about winning the game now I've got my sights set on the next few rounds.

"I hadn't thought about winning [the World Championship]. Now I've beat Matt, my mum said the dream is still on. So anything can happen."

Littler added: "The crowd are on my side, they love a 180. I always give them a little finger point. It is unbelievable on there.

"I went 3-0 up in the first set and 3-0 up in the second set and then I was calm. It was the calmest I've been up there."
