Wrexham have decided to pursue a top Premier League star after watching him play his final match for his current club.

After 38 thrilling gameweeks, the 2024/25 Premier League season came to an end on Sunday afternoon as all 20 sides kicked off for the final game of their campaign.

Ahead of what is expected to be a busy transfer window, clubs from across the world will have tuned in to identify some potential targets for the summer.

Having incredibly achieved their third successive promotion, Wrexham will have no doubt been keeping a keen eye on the Premier League as they look to strenghten their squad to challenge in the Championship next season.

Since securing promotion, the Red Dragons have been linked with several Premier League star, including the likes of Jamie Vardy and Tom Cairney, but it now appears they have their sights set on a West Ham star who impressed in his final match for the club.

According to West Ham journalist Alan Nixon, Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are preparing an ambitious move for Aaron Cresswell this summer.

After joining from Ipswich Town in 2014, Cresswell has been with West Ham for 11 years, but will leave the club in the summer following the expiration of his current contract.

The Englishman made 369 appearances for the Hammers during his time with the club and boasts the longest unbroken top-flight career of any player at the Club in the Premier League era.

And, having watched several of his performances this season, Wrexham are prepared to offer the 35-year-old a chance to continue his playing career as a key player for the Championship side.

According to Capology, the left-back's contract with West Ham saw him earning £50,000 per week, meaning he would likely have to take a fairly significant financial blow if he decides to join the North Wales club.

However, Wrexham are reportedly not the only club that are interested in securing Cresswell's services ahead of next season, as it is believed that Leeds United will also offer him a contract following their promotion to the Premier League.
