Wrexham are planning on making a 'landmark' first signing should they reach the Premier League next season – a move that would almost certainly be the biggest in the club’s history.
With 32 games played, Phil Parkinson's side are very much in the Championship play-off race as they search for an unprecedented fourth straight promotion.
The Welsh outfit currently sit just outside the top-six ahead of their clash against Ipswich on Saturday, and are level on points with sixth-place Derby, who have a superior goal difference with 14 games remaining.
Earlier this week, Parkinson opened up on the race to secure Premier League promotion. "It's very exciting," he told talkSPORT. "It's great to be a part of it. It really is. It's all to play for with 14 games to go."

As we approach the tail end of the season, transfer rumours are beginning to emerge ahead of the summer window.
If they pull off a fourth straight promotion, Wrexham will need to improve their current squad if they want to avoid the drop – and a 'spectacular' move could be on the horizon should they reach the promised land.
The Dragons will try and convince Fulham's in-form winger Harry Wilson to join in the summer, according to TEAMtalk.
Wilson, who has notched eight goals and four assists for Marco Silva's side this season, is attracting interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Everton, Leeds and Sunderland as his contract runs down at Craven Cottage.
Wrexham would also be 'firmly in the mix' for Wilson should they secure promotion, according to the report, which details the so-called 'emotional weight' that would come with playing for his boyhood club.

Growing up, Wilson was a huge Wrexham supporter and attended every home game with members of his family. In fact, joining the Welsh outfit could prove to be an 'irresistible draw' for the winger.
It is said the Wales international would 'jump at the opportunity' to join them.
Harry Wilson opens up on supporting Wrexham as a child
Speaking to The Guardian in 2024, Wilson reflected on his affection for Wrexham, as well as their takeover in 2021, when Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney walked through the doors at the Racecourse Ground.
“I used to go to pretty much every home game with my uncle and my cousin when I was growing up," he said.
"When Wrexham dropped out of the Football League [in 2008], I think the town took a hit as well, so now to have that renewed interest and funding, it’s not just the football team that is on the up but it’s the town as well and it’s great to see being a local lad."
Wilson added: "The takeover has been huge for the community as a whole.”
