Wrexham are planning to revive their interest in a Premier League star as the chase promotion to the top-flight.
Back in November 2020, Hollywood start Rob Mac and Ryan Reynold completed a takeover of National League side Wrexham and transformed the Welsh club have become one of the biggest stories in football.
In the five years since their arrival, the pair have helped the Red Dragons secure promotion from the National League all the way up to the second-tier Championship, where they currently sit 13th in the table.
During their historic raise through the ranks of English football, Wrexham have been able to attract several former Premier League players to the club, including the likes of Conor Coady and Ben Foster.

And it appears that the club may once again look to sign a Premier League player as they hope to revive their chances of making the play-offs.

Since their promotion to the Championship, several big names from the Premier League have been linked with Wrexham, with Jamie Vardy believed to have considered a move following his departure from Leicester City last summer.
However, the one player who has been linked with Wrexham perhaps more than any other Premier League star is West Ham United's Andy Irving, who previously rejected the clubs advances over the summer.

Wrexham were believed to be ready to strike a deal for the the 25-year-old, who is valued at around £3.5million, but the deal fell through as the Scotland international decided to fight for a place in the West Ham lineup.
Addressing the rumours back in September, he said: "There was a lot of speculation and media [during the summer], but ultimately for me, I'm in a good place here at West Ham. I really enjoy it here, so I was keen to stay and continue giving my best for the club.
"I enjoy the work that we put in here, and I really enjoy the role that I have within the squad on and off the pitch."
But with Irving making just six Premier League appearances so far this season, it is widely expected that he will leave in January, again opening the door for Wrexham, with Wales Online reporting that the Red Dragons are planning another bid.

Despite the fact that Wrexham added 13 new players to the squad following the club's promotion from League One, the club's chief executive, Michael Williamson, has confirmed that manager Phil Parkinson will be backed in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Wrexham are not the only side believed to be considering a move for Irving in January, as both Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are also said to be keen on signing him.
