Mo Salah's agent reveals real truth behind Besiktas transfer after 'done deal' claims

Mohamed Salah's agent has broken silence after it was claimed that the forward is joining Besiktas.

Mohamed Salah's agent has spoken publicly after the Egyptian was set to join Besiktas on a free transfer.

Salah officially departed Liverpool at the end of June, bringing the curtain down on an incredible nine years at Anfield.

The goal-scoring machine netted an eye-watering 257 goals in 442 appearances for the Reds to deliver three Premier League titles, a Champions League and several other trophies.

But the end of his Premier League career was soured by his relationship with Arne Slot, publicly slamming the Dutchman for his tactics as he was thrown under the bus.

Salah has been linked to multiple clubs since confirming his departure from Merseyside in March, including a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia, but it's Besiktas who emerged as his most likely destination.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 34-year-old gave the 'green light' to join the Turkish giants on Friday, reportedly signing a one-year contract with the option of a further year.

Tavolieri even claimed that Salah's move to Besiktas was a 'done deal', with the club keen on flying him in for his medical and signature early next week.

Although a transfer appears close to completion, and that is perhaps the case, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas has cast doubt over this update in a bombshell statement.

“I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?" he questioned on X.

Abbas will know more than anyone about where his client is heading, and it clearly came as a surprise that reports suggested he was closing in on a move to Besiktas.

Mo Salah could join Leandro Trossard at Besiktas

It's very uncommon for an agent to speak out and effectively dismiss a transfer, especially on social media, with this news coming as a shock to many.

However, if Besiktas do get a deal over the line for Salah, he will be joining Leandro Trossard in Turkey.

The Belgian's three-and-a-half-year stay at Arsenal recently came to an end as he joined Besiktas in a £15million move, penning a three-year contract with the option of an additional year.

Trossard - like Salah - rose to stardom in the Premier League and is seen as a huge coup for the Turkish Super Lig side.

The 31-year-old recorded 93 goal involvements in 239 English top-flight appearances and was vital last term during Arsenal's title-winning campaign.

“I feel so sad about leaving because this club has been everything to me," Trossard said in an emotional message after departing the Gunners.

“This is probably the hardest decision I’ve made in my career. It wasn’t easy to say yes, but I also feel it’s the right time to begin a new chapter.”

“One of the reasons I chose Beşiktaş over some clubs in England is because I didn’t want to be playing against Arsenal. This club means too much to me, and I didn’t want to find myself on the opposite side.”
