Mohamed Salah made his full debut for Trabzonspor on Thursday night, but unfortunately, it didn't go as he had imagined.
Salah made an emotional exit from Liverpool at the end of June, nine years after moving to Anfield from Roma, where he established himself as a club legend.
The 34-year-old used the summer after the World Cup to decide his next move, securing a transfer to Turkish giants Trabzonspor at the start of August on a two-year deal.
The Egyptian arrived at the club with much fanfare, making his debut in a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa in the Super Lig after coming off the bench in the 58th minute.

Salah earned rave reviews from sections of the Turkish media for his cameo after very nearly opening his account for the club with a close-range volley from a free-kick flying narrowly wide of the post.
On Thursday, the Egyptian superstar had another opportunity to impress, this time in the starting lineup for the first leg of their Europa League play-off against Ferencvaros.
Under the raucous atmosphere at Trabzonspor's Akyazi Stadium, Salah couldn't prevent a disappointing 1-0 defeat to the Hungarian side after Chibuike Nwaiwu was shown a straight red card early in added time.
A difficult night for the Turkish side means they will have to claw back a 1-0 deficit next Thursday to advance into the Europa League, with Salah failing to escape criticism from the national media.
Sozcu summed up the supporters' mood, writing: "Some fans claimed Salah was far from his glory days and that the transfer was a mistake, while others argued that he would reach his true potential in the upcoming matches."
The same outlet said Salah had made a "disappointing start to the season" and that he had "failed to meet expectations in his first match at the Akyazi Stadium."
A similar tone was struck by Canli Yayin, claiming that Salah has "divided fans" in the first two matches after "failing to deliver" so far.
The Fanatik website, meanwhile, went against criticising the fleet-footed forward and instead praised Ferencvaros for "effectively marking the Egyptian star, practically suffocating him."
"Nevertheless, Salah tried to break through this marking with great fighting spirit, but it wasn't enough," it added.

When Mo Salah will play next for Trabzonspor
Salah joined the Trabzonspor camp late and isn't expected to be up to speed with his new teammates yet.
Nonetheless, it feels only a matter of time before the Egyptian is showcasing his class in the Super Lig, destroying defences with his wand of a left foot.
Perhaps they will see an improved performance from the Liverpool legend when they host Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday (August 23), as he prepares to make his second appearance for the club.
Basaksehir are managed by the former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin, and finished fifth in the Super Lig last season.
Trabzonspor are hoping that Salah's class can help propel them to the Super Lig title after finishing third last term, eight points behind eventual winners Galatasaray.
