Liverpool Issue Six-Word Response as Mo Salah Misses Out on Ballon d'Or

Ousmane Dembele has won the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

Liverpool took to social media after Mohamed Salah finished in a disappointing fourth place in the 2025 Ballon d'Or rankings.

On Monday night, many big-name players and managers gathered inside the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France as the 2025 Ballon d'Or awards ceremony took place.

After Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati won the women's award for the third year running, the men's trophy was handed out.

Paris Saint Germain superstar Ousmane Dembele, who was the favourite to win the award, was announced as the winner of the 2025 Ballon d'Or, beating Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and teammate Vitinha.

Liverpool star Salah, who enjoyed a stellar 24/25 season with the Reds and racked up 57 goal contributions, finished in fourth place.

Although he was one of the favourites, Salah did not attend the ceremony. Liverpool's travelling party included captain Virgil van Dijk, goalkeeper Alisson Becker and manager Arne Slot.

Ousmane Dembele breaks silence after winning Ballon d'Or

Speaking after winning the award, Dembele said: "I thank everyone at PSG. President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Luis Enrique are both like dads to me. I also thank all the clubs I've played for: Dortmund, Rennes and Barcelona. I was with great players like Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi.

"The Ballon d'Or wasn't a goal in my career but it's exceptional to win. I worked for the team to win the Champions League, and to be thanked with a trophy like the Ballon d'Or makes me very happy tonight."
