Renato Sanches Just Endured An Absolute Stinker Of A Game For Swansea

Oh dear, Renato Sanches.
Around this time last year, the 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder had just won the prestigious Golden Boy award, hot on the heels of a Euro 2016 triumph with Portugal and a €35 million move from Benfica to Bayern Munich.
Tonight, Sanches, now on loan at Swansea City after a miserable first season in Bavaria, was hauled off at half-time after one of the worst first half performances of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Bayern youngster's night was summed up by one pass which he thought was heading for a teammate in a red shirt but was in fact straight to a Carabao logo on a pitchside advertising hoarding.

"Here we go, lads, one pass to feet coming right up..."

"Look at that. Straight to feet, no messing."

"Oh....."

Sanches was promptly hauled off by manager Paul Clement and has come in for a torrent of abuse for his display.
Renato Sanches has just served up one of the worst individual performances I have seen this season. If Paul Clement's body language is any clue, he feels the same way.

It was like a despairing foster parent.

Renato Sanches is so poor. Clearly is the next big flop in football. There is no way back for him.

Renato Sanches passing to an advertising hoarding must be one of the saddest sights I've seen on a football pitch.

What on earth has happened to him?
The only possible explanation for this pass is that Renato Sanches suffered a mid-game existential crisis and decided that retaining possession of the ball is ultimately a futile act as we stare into a nihilistic abyss of nothingness. pic.twitter.com/lTFN3wHrs3

What is Renato Sanches' favourite song? pic.twitter.com/1dLXIu4dr2

Having been one of the most sought after midfielders in the world a year ago, it's a sad sight to see such a promising player struggle so much. Let's hope he can turn things around before long.
