The Story Between Mauro Icardi And Maxi López's Relationship Genuinely Belongs In A Movie

The love triangle of Vasco da Gama's Maxi López, Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara is one hell of a crazy story.

Mauro Icardi has had a tough time at Inter Milan after he was stripped of the club captaincy earlier this month.

Sure, he might be one of the club's biggest stars and had a solid relationship with his fellow teammates, but the same can't be said for his friendship with Maxi López.

The 26-year-old Argentine striker and his fellow 34-year-old countryman both played together at Sampdoria and supposedly had a close relationship.

However, the two had a love triangle with Wanda Nara. So, Icardi reportedly had an affair with the 32-year-old when she was with López.

Ouch! A very snake-like move from Icardi. Oh, and that is only the tip of the iceberg.

The Inter Milan player has since married her and he even has López's kids tattooed on his arm.

Of course, it all led to a climactic showdown in 2014 when Sampdoria took on Inter Milan and would become known as the 'Wanda derby,' which received its name after López refused to shake Icardi's hand.

In 2016, Icardi broke his silence on the long-running problems he had with López and argued he was not in the wrong.

"Everyone speaks about the Wanda issue without knowing the truth," he told Fox Sports (via Goal).

"When I started with her, I played alongside Diego Milito, [Javier] Zanetti, [Esteban] Cambiasso, [Walter] Samuel and they all knew the story because I told them.

"I was a friend of the couple, an acquaintance, and it was all very normal. After that, Wanda split up and we kept in contact, and it just happened.

"I fell in love, that's something you should judge solely on its own merits. But [López] was not my best friend, nothing like that. We were colleagues in Sampdoria, nothing else."

In fact, Icardi's former agent recently said that his life had "changed so much" because of Wanda.

Was Icardi in the wrong?
