Liverpool fans have been left excited by a youngster’s performance against Barcelona for the club he is currently on loan at.
On Saturday, Barcelona travelled to the Spanish Canary Island of Gran Canaria ahead of their La Liga match against Las Palmas.
Goals from Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres helped Hansi Flick’s side to a 2-0 victory, which put them one point clear of Atletico Madrid at the summit of the Spanish top flight.
And despite the talent on show in Barca’s side, Liverpool fans were keeping a keen eye on a 20-year-old midfielder who started the match for Las Palmas.
Stefan Bajcetic started in the heart of the home side’s midfield and was up against top-class opposition with the likes of Pedri, Fermin Lopez and Marc Casado all starting in the middle of the park for Barca.

Of course, Bajcetic, 20, is on loan at the La Liga side from the Premier League leaders, having previously been loaned to Austrian outfit RB Salzburg. But his stint was cut short in January before he joined Las Palmas temporarily.

Since then, he has featured four times for Diego Martinez’s side. Arguably, his most impressive performance came on Saturday, and Liverpool supporters were quick to give their thoughts on X.
One said: "He’s playing further forward for Las Palmas than he did at Liverpool or Salzburg so it’s a change of style for him. Still thought he had a good game tonight and was Las Palmas' best player."

Another added: "I watched him for last 2 games, he's good but he's not playing DM as an anchor, so he occasionally moves forward.
"But he is good at tight spaces and his physicality is improving. Tough mentality is what we need a lot from him."
While a third commented: "Those snippets from last night showed a player making huge progress. Giving him a spell on loan in Spain was ideal & he'll rejoin the squad a brand new man."
As a fourth praised: "Another incredible performance. Still don't get why we didn't recall him."
