A supercomputer has predicted the fate of Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea in the remainder of the knockout stages of the Champions League.

City topped Group G this season before sweeping aside RB Leipzig in the last 16, with Erling Haaland scoring a whopping five times in the second-leg clash.

The defending Premier League champions punched their ticket to the quarter-finals, with City to face Bayern Munich for a place in the semi-finals.

Chelsea, much like City, finished top of Group E before overcoming a first-leg last-16 deficit against Borussia Dortmund to reach the quarter-finals.

However, the Blues face a tough test after matching up against reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid after the sacking of Graham Potter.

City host Bayern for their first-leg tie at the Etihad on Tuesday, while Chelsea travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for their clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

BonusCodeBets has now used a supercomputer to determine how City and Chelsea will do in the Champions League, with the Blues to face major heartbreak.

According to the supercomputer, Madrid will defeat Chelsea to reach the semi-finals to set up a showdown with City.

City are predicted to beat Bayern in the quarter-finals before dumping current champions Real Madrid out of the semi-finals.

Napoli are predicted to beat fellow Serie A side AC Milan in the quarter-finals, with Benfica tipped to knock Inter Milan out of the Champions League.

Luciano Spalletti’s side, who are top of Serie A this season, are then backed to beat Benfica in the semi-finals to set up a Champions League final clash with City.

However, the supercomputer believes City manager Pep Guardiola will break his longstanding Champions League drought and finally clinch the trophy for his side.

“Pep Guardiola will be delighted to see that Manchester City are predicted to win the Champions League, despite facing European giants along the way,” a BonusCodeBets spokesperson said.

“With Arsenal’s draw to Liverpool on Sunday, Manchester City now have the Premier League title in their hands if they win every game until the end of the season, which is a 14-game win streak [that] the Cityzens managed before in 2018-19.

“With Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-finals, they have a very good chance to make it to the final and will have one of their best chances of completing the treble.”
