Respected Journalist Gives Major Update On Sadio Mane's Potential Transfer To Bayern

Sadio Mane looks set to be on his way to Germany.

Liverpool expect Bayern Munich to meet their £40m valuation for Sadio Mane, according to the Telegraph's Sam Wallace

For a couple of weeks now there has been constant speculation over the Liverpool winger’s future. With the player reportedly keen on a new challenge, Bayern Munich have been frontrunners for the Senegalese star’s signature for some time now.

During his 6 years in Merseyside, Mané has scored 120 times from 269 appearances, winning the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the process.

Robert Lewandowski’s potential departure to Barcelona has made Bayern in need of attacking reinforcement. Oliver Kahn and the rest of the Bayern board have seemingly identified Sadio Mane as a key man, with the versatility of the winger/centre forward especially attractive.

The Bundesliga champions initial bid was said to be around £25m in total. A fee way off Liverpool’s valuation of the player. However, as reports state, the German giants are now set to meet Liverpool’s valuation for the AFCON winner.

The sale of Mane will be one of the main sources of funding for the Darwin Nunez transfer, with the Reds expected to seal a €80m deal for the Uruguayan in the coming days.

Nunez is a player who has scored 26 goals in 28 league matches this season, with him netting a further six on the biggest stage in the UEFA Champions League. It is crucial that Liverpool find an appropriate replacement for Mane, with the 23 goals the Senegalese star scored this season needing replacing. Seemingly, Nunez is that man.
