Liverpool May Have Found The Perfect Player To Bolster Their Midfield

Liverpool May Have Found The Perfect Player To Bolster Their Midfield

Liverpool want to sign Inter Milan Star Nicolo Barella this summer, according to reports

With talented French midfielder Auelien Tchouameni set to move to Real Madrid this summer instead of Liverpool, the Reds need to look elsewhere to strengthen their ageing midfield. As such, they continue their search on the continent, this time in Italy. Jurgen Klopp would reportedly like to sign Inter Milan star Nicolo Barella this summer.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a strong Serie A season despite Inter failing to regain their league title. He contributed to 14 goals across 36 appearances and continues to be one of Europe’s most admired midfielders. Few Italians make the switch from Serie A to Premier League, but one would imagine Barella would be successful if he were to do so.

According to The Express, Barella could cost Liverpool as much as £60 million this summer. However, this is a comparable sum to the one they were willing to spend on Tchouameni. Liverpool are willing to spend big this summer to improve their engine room.

Aside from Barella and Tchouameni, Liverpool are also said to hold an interest in Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham. Jurgen Klopp is known to be a fan of the Englishman, but again, such a move wouldn’t be cheap, and could cost up to £100 million. Dortmund aren’t exactly short of money either, having recently offloaded Erling Haaland.

So, it is clear that Jurgen Klopp is on the hunt for a new midfielder this summer. Interest in Nicolo Barella, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham elucidates the calibre of player the German manager is looking to add to his squad. Liverpool will need to act this summer to ensure they don’t fall behind the ever-improving Manchester City.
