Liverpool are expected to move for a centre-back once deals for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are completed, while an update on Djed Spence has also been issued.
Liverpool have already welcomed Spanish winger Victor Munoz and French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet this summer, but the Reds’ dealings in the transfer market are far from over.
Paris Saint-Germain wingers Barcola and Mbaye are both of interest to the Merseyside club, with the former having agreed personal terms with Liverpool while negotiations between the clubs are said to be ongoing, with PSG wanting £146million for the France international.
Liverpool are reportedly willing to meet PSG’s £43million asking price for Mbaye, who plays on the right flank, while Barcola is most comfortable on the left.

Despite wanting to add to their attacking options, Liverpool have found themselves with a defensive injury crisis during pre-season, with fans calling for Iraola to bring in a right-back to help out Jeremie Frimpong while Conor Bradley recovers from injury.
Meanwhile, following Joe Gomez’s muscle injury earlier in pre-season, club captain Virgil van Dijk is the only fit centre-back at the club, with Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni both on the sidelines.
However, the former will likely be fit in the coming weeks.

Fabrizio Romano issues Djed Spence to Liverpool update
Spurs right-back Spence has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent days, with Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealing what he knows about a potential switch on his YouTube channel on Friday (August 7), while also detailing what he expects Liverpool to do next in the transfer window.
“On Liverpool, there are many reports on right-back. If I know something on right-back, I will let you know,” Romano explained.
“At the moment I am not aware of movements for Djed Spence, despite reports. If something happens, I will let you know.
“For Liverpool, keep an eye on some centre-backs. Because what I’m hearing is that Liverpool could consider a move for a centre-back in these final weeks of this summer transfer window.
“Liverpool could add one more player in that position.
“So more than right-back in this specific moment, I would keep an eye also on the centre-back position.”
As reported by TEAMtalk, Liverpool are interested in Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa, with Arsenal also monitoring the England international, viewing his versatility and ability to play as a centre-back and right-back as an important asset.
Liverpool have also been urged to re-sign Jarell Quansah, although the £70million buy-back clause in his contract is not active until the summer of 2027.
Former Chelsea and current AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori and Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck have also been tentatively linked with switches to Anfield.
The transfer window shuts at 11pm on September 1.
