Why Liverpool vs Fulham Premier League clash cannot be shown on TV in the UK

Liverpool vs Fulham is not on TV.

Liverpool take on Fulham in a Premier League clash on Wednesday evening - but the match will not be available to watch on TV in the United Kingdom.

The Reds are aiming to continue their four-game winning streak which nearly came to an end on Sunday against Tottenham.

Jurgen Klopp's side went 3-0 up inside 15 minutes at Anfield, but Spurs reduced the deficit to just one goal through strikes from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Liverpool entered injury time still ahead in the game, but Richarlison scored in the 93rd minute to rescue what he thought was a point for Ryan Mason's side.

However, just a minute later, Diogo Jota fired past Fraser Forster to give Liverpool a 4-3 advantage - one that they would not relinquish in the remaining allotted injury time.

That sparked wild scenes at Anfield, and kept Liverpool's slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

A fifth place finish - and Europa League football for next season - is their most realistic possibility, and they will hope to pick up three points against Fulham to edge closer to that final position. But UK viewers won't be able to watch the game.

Why is Liverpool vs Fulham not on TV?

Liverpool vs Fulham is not being televised because it is a rescheduled fixture from an original kick-off time of Saturday at 3pm.

The match, therefore, falls under English football's blackout, in which games cannot be shown live on TV or any other platform.

The blackout still applies even if a game is rescheduled to a different date or time, meaning UK viewers cannot watch the action live from Anfield tonight.

There is live radio commentary from talkSPORT 2, however, with Joe Shennan and ex-West Ham striker Dean Ashton behind the microphone.

The game was rescheduled due to the Cottagers' FA Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester United, which saw manager Marco Silva and Aleksandar Mitrovic sent off.

Silva will be on the touchline at Anfield, but Mitrovic is still serving an eight-game ban after he pushed referee Chris Kavanagh during the game.
