Wrexham fans believed a transfer domino effect will end with them signing a striker currently playing in the Championship.

Wrexham are currently preparing for life in League One following their promotion from the fourth tier.

Supporters of the Welsh club have enjoyed a meteoric rise since Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2020.

Since then the club has risen two divisions from the National League, returning to the Football League after a 15-year absence in 2023 before achieving a second successive promotion last season.

Thanks to the resources at their disposal and the upwards trajectory of the club, Wrexham have been able to persuade payers to drop down a league or two to play for them.

In 2022 Elliott Lee dropped down from the Championship to join the club in the National League, and a year later former Premier League stars James McClean and Steven Fletcher joined the Red Dragons in League Two.

In a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand, Reynolds explained how he persuades potential signings that Wrexham is the club for them,

Now it looks like Wrexham might bolster their attacking options with striker Tom Bradshaw, who currently plies his trade with Millwall in the Championship.

Though the 31-year-old only scored four goals in the second tier last season, Wrexham believe he can help them acclimatise to life in League One.

Though Millwall boss Neil Harris has laughed off suggestions his striker could leave, the arrival of Macaulay Langstaff at the Den could facilitate a move.

On Monday Millwall confirmed the signing of Langstaff from Notts County, weeks after he was made of the Nottingham club.

On social media, Wrexham fans have been speculating that Millwall signing a new striker means they are preparing to sell Bradshaw to their club.

One Wrexham fan tweeted: "Fair do's to @Official_NCFC [Notts County], selling Langstaff for pittance so that Parky's tricky reds are free to snap up Bradshaw is a lovely thing to do."

Another commented: "Congratulations on your move Macaulay, hopefully this paves the way for Wrexham to sign Tom Bradshaw."
