Wrexham has been an example of how a football club's fortune can be changed in a matter of years with the right kind of investment in the right areas.

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club, the Welsh club has had multiple promotions. They will now be competing in the Championship next season in a first for the club since the league's rebranding - and all eyes will be on if they can survive, never mind thrive, in the difficulty of the league.

Reynolds and McElhenney's arrival has not only brought changes in results, but off the field a lot has changed for Wrexham. Their Disney+ documentary series has been watched by thousands.

Among the meteoric rise of the club, reports have suggested that the Wrexham owners are in the look out for more investments to try and reach that next level of success.

The American owners recently announced that the club is valued at £350 million, which has led to reports believing that the club could be on sale. And with the valuation sky high, Wrexham Insider spoke to financial expert Adam Williams, who hinted at the idea of a potential takeover from Middle-East.

Expert thinks Turki Alalshikh could be a potentially look at buying Wrexham

Turki Alalshikh is the chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.

He has invested in Egyptian and Spanish clubs, but many believe Alalshikh could be interested in moving to English football.

Speaking about Alalshikh, Williams said: "Turki Al-Sheikh has a mixed record in football. He took over Egyptian side Al Assiouty Sport in 2018, renamed them Pyramids FC and moved them 400 miles away to Cairo, so it’s fair to say he’s not in the business to make friends necessarily. At least, not initially."

There were reports that suggested he was approached by several clubs in the Championship to take over the club, but Alalshikh has not made a move yet.

Would Alalshikh be the right man for Wrexham?

Alalshikh has also held stakes in Spanish club Almeria and he invested a lot of money into the club after helping them get promoted to La Liga.

The club were relegated after just one season and finished sixth in La Liga 2 last year.

This shows that despite investments, a club can face problems, especially in English football which is highly competitive.

Alalshikh's stint in Egypt will also be a bit of a cause of concern for Wrexham fans as he moved the club away from the city of origin.

Now it is not a given that it will happen with Wrexham, but fans will not be too pleased knowing that.

Wrexham's stadium was under lease with the supporters trust, but they gave it up in 2023.

However, according to an agreement Wrexham will have to play their games at the Racecourse till 2115.

The billionaire owner was behind the boxing revolution in Saudi, but apart from his financial power there is no evidence to suggest Alalshikh would succeed with the football club- Wrexham
