Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has been slammed for his post-match actions following his side’s 4-1 loss against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Villa came into the top-of-the-table clash fresh from an important win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge just two days prior.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side’s class shone through in the second half with Gabriel Magalhaes bundling home the opener on 48 minutes before Martin Zubimendi poked past Emi Martinez to make it 2-0 four minutes later.
Leandro Trossard put the result beyond any doubt with a sharp long-range effort on 69 minutes before substitute Gabriel Jesus made it 4-0 with one of his first touches of the ball.

City face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on New Year’s Day (January 1).
Meanwhile, Emery will be hoping his side can return to winning ways when they return to action at home against Nottingham Forest on January 3.
The Spaniard appeared visibly frustrated on the touchline during the trouncing at the Emirates, with some Arsenal supporters even calling out their former boss for his actions shortly after the full-time whistle.
Some suggested that Emery walked straight down the tunnel without shaking Arteta’s hand, with footage appearing to prove the theory correct.
One fan said: “I like Emery but can’t defend him on this. Arteta celebrated with his coaches for (at most) 10 seconds, then went looking for Emery to shake his hand.”
Another added: “Let Unai Emery run. Mikel Arteta really dealt with Unai Emery.”
As a third commented: “Spot Andrea Berta telling Arteta that Unai ran away.”
While journalist and Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan described Emery as a “Graceless P****", via X.
Shortly after the match, Emery addressed the incident, claiming that Arteta was “with the coaches” and his “routine is always quick”.
"After finishing the match, my routine is always quick, shake hands… I was waiting," Emery said.
"Of course [Arteta] was happy. But he was with the coaches, and I can’t wait for him.
"I was there, but no problem. I went to my dressing room."
Arteta also spoke about the incident in his post-match press conference but was quick to explain how “it’s all good” and “part of the game”.
“… It's not an issue,” Arteta claimed.
