Chelsea will launch an investigation and 'potentially contact the authorities' after Aston Villa reported an incident that took place in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's Premier League clash.
Villa tied their club record for the longest win streak across all competitions (11) after they came from behind to secure a dramatic 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea took a deserved first-half lead through Joao Pedro, who converted from an inswinging Reece James corner, but the home side struggled to maintain their dominance after the break.
Ollie Watkins made an immediate impact from the bench as he levelled the scores just five minutes after coming on.

And after a promising period of possession, Watkins scored a downward header from Youri Tielemans' 84th-minute corner to seal all three points for Villa, who now sit three points behind league leaders Arsenal.

It was a heated affair at Stamford Bridge, and those on the Aston Villa bench celebrated wildly after referee Stuart Attwell blew his whistle for full-time.
However, it appears tensions boiled over in the immediate aftermath as a plastic bottle was reportedly thrown at the away bench, drenching both the substitutes and staff in water.
The bottle in question was reportedly tossed from the side of the Chelsea dugout, with one staff member from Villa signalling where the bottle came from.
According to a report from The Telegraph, no confirmation of where exactly the bottle was thrown from has yet emerged, although Chelsea will cooperate with their opponents and potentially the authorities to try to find out what happened.
Chelsea are understood to take 'a dim view' of the incident, with the above report suggesting that CCTV will likely be checked.

As mentioned above, Aston Villa are just three points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, who will take on Unai Emery's side on Tuesday night.
Speaking after Saturday's final whistle, Emery played down the idea that his side are in a title race.
Asked if he believes Villa can win the title, he said: "Not really. "I am feeling that we are competing for Europe, not competing in the league with Man City and Arsenal."
"We have played 18 matches and have 20 to play," he added. "Teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United – we must compete with them. We must be consistent over 38 matches."
Emery continued: "That match against Arsenal is very, very difficult. In The Emirates they are so strong.
"The next challenge is the biggest challenge we will face because they are the best team now in the Premier League and Champions League. But we have very good players and I try to set our demands high for everything."
