Ruben Amorim is expected to return the the dugout with a major European side this summer.
Following his appointment as Erik ten Hag's replacement in November 2024, Amorim was sacked from his position as United manager in January.
During his 14 months in charge at Old Trafford the Portuguese manager won only 31.9% of his matches in all competitions, the worst win ratio of any permanent United boss.
Since his departure Amorim has decided to take some time away from the spotlight, raising questions about when we may next see him managing a club.

Some reports have suggested that he could be considering a spectacular move back to the Premier League as Crystal Palace reportedly have included him on their list of options ahead of current boss Oliver Glasner leaving at the end of the season.
But now, it has been revealed that he is on the cusp of a return to management with another top European club, and it would be the perfect match.
As reported by The Sun, Amorim is currently in line to take over as manager of Benfica who have set their sights on their former player to succeed Jose Mourinho, who is set to join Real Madrid ahead of next season.
Although Amorim has strong links with Benfica's rivals Sporting Lisbon, who he managed to two league titles ahead of his move to United, he played for The Eagles aead of his career as a manager.
Amorim spent nine years playing for Benfica, albeit spending some of this time on loan with Braga, Benfica B and Qatari side Al-Wakrah SC.
He made 154 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese club and retired following his return from Al-Wakrah after sustaining a complete rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee.
On top of this, it is said that he remains 'close friends' with the Benfica president, Rui Costa, who led the club as sporting director during Amorim's playing days.
If appointed, Amorim would be taking over a side that, under the leadership of Mourinho, completed an unbeaten league season and yet finished third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, missing out on Champions League qualification.
