Former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has spoken out against the Premier League side and picked out the one signing that was a huge mistake.
Following the departure of club legend Sir Alex Ferguson back in May 2013, eight different men have stood in the Manchester United dugout, either as a permanent or interim manager.
One of those men, was current Austrian national team manager Rangnick, who was appointed as United's interim manager from November 2021 until the end of the season.

Rangnick, who was in charge for 28 games in total, had a turbulent time at United, and often was prepared to speak quite candidly and honestly about his assessment of the club.
And it appears that he is still more than happy to do so as, in a shocking new interview, he has lashed out at his former club and singled out the one player that he wouldn't have signed if he had stayed longer.

Since Rangnick's departure, many would say that United have continued to perform below expectations, despite winning both the FA Cup and the League Cup in recent years.

Last season, current boss Ruben Amorim led the Red Devils to 15th in the Premier League, their worst finish since the competition began back in 1992.
According to Rangnick, the reason for this continued steady decline is clear as he insisted that the club still has a major problem with its leadership.
"I think we have to go back to 2013, when Sir Alex left the club," Rangnick explained to Sport.
"And at the time he was still there, he was the mastermind behind it all. He probably also brought a lot of important people to the club.

"The moment he left, some of those people probably left the club as well. And, since then, I think they have a leadership problem.
"Who's really making the decisions and why are they making them? Are they really the best people for the job? I can only tell you that the six months I was there, it was difficult to say, even for me as head coach.
"Who were the decision-makers? Who? Who could I talk to? If we wanted to sign new players, it was difficult. There were people, but in the end, it was difficult."

During Rangnick's short spell in charge at United, Toby Collyer was the only player to join the club after signing a three-year deal following his move from Brighton.
Since then, the club have spent over £600million on transfers, with many of them failing to live up to the expectations placed on them when they arrived.
However, it appears that for Rangnick, none of United's recent signings have been as much of a disaster as Casemiro, who joined the club from Real Madrid at the age of 30 in 2022 for £60million plus £10million in add-ons.
"If I were the owner or sporting director of a club, I would only try to sign and invest in young players. Because no matter how you look at it, it only makes sense," Rangnick added.

"Does it make sense to spend 30, 40, 50 million on a 28-or 30-year-old signing? Not really.
"Let's calculate it. You sign a 28 or 30-year-old with a five-year contract. You spend 50 million more on the transfer fee, an average of 15 million euros per year multiplied by five. That's 65 million plus the 50 million transfer fee equals 115 million, plus the agents' fees. The whole operation costs you around 130 million."
Casemiro has made 125 appearances for United and is reportedly being paid a wage of £350,000 a week, making him one of the Premier League's top earners.
