Manchester United are finally set to benefit after Mason Greenwood reached a four-year agreement to move on from Marseille.
Greenwood joined Marseille in 2024 for a fee of £26.6 million after United decided it was best for him to continue his career elsewhere.
His permanent transfer to the Ligue One outfit followed a loan move at Getafe.
In two seasons, the 24-year-old has scored 48 times in 81 games for Marseille. But it was reported that his relationship with the club broke down and Greenwood was seemingly made available for transfer if the price was right.

AS Roma and Fenerbahce were immediately credited with strong interest in Greenwood and it appears as though the latter are set to secure his services.
Both of presidential candidates vying to run the Turkish giants, Aziz Yildirim and Hakan Safi, have made no secret of their desire to sign Greenwood.
In fact, Safi claims that personal terms have been agreed with Greenwood.
"We have signed a four-year agreement with Mason Greenwood,” he stated.
"He has proven himself at the highest level of European football. He has agreed to join Fenerbahce during the most valuable and productive years of his career.
"I said I would bring a star player. Today, I am experiencing the justified pride of keeping my promise.”
How Mason Greenwood's Fenerbahce move impacts Manchester United
When United sold Greenwood two years ago, they smartly inserted a 50 per cent sell-on clause in his contract.
According to journalist Chris Winterburn, the arrangement agreed was for United to take half of the profit on offers above the £26.6 million Marseille paid.
Marseille are said to be demanding a minimum of £43 million for Greenwood, which would be a profit of around £17 million.
Should that be correct, United would be in line to pocket £8 million from the mooted transfer.
Other conflicting reports claim that United will take half of the total fee, which would bag them more than £20 million.
Fenerbahce and Marseille have not yet reached an agreement over the transfer fee but Marseille's sporting director Gregory Lorenzi confirmed that the club are open to offers.
Speaking to L'Equipe, Lorenzi said: "He [Greenwood] is one of the players that we are really thinking about [with regard to] their future. If an opportunity presents itself, naturally, we will think about it.
"But there is the club's position [and] that of the player. It is also up to us to manage internally to find the best possible solution for all parties.”
Greenwood's departure for United came out about following his 2022 arrest.
The forward was later charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Having strongly denied all the allegations, UK's Crown Prosecution Service discontinued proceedings against him after key witnesses withdrew their involvement in the case and new material emerged.
United launched an internal investigation but issued a statement where they said it was mutually agreed that it "would be most appropriate" for Greenwood to continue his playing career away from Old Trafford.
