Three players could still leave Man Utd after transfer deadline day

United's transfer business may not end with Monday's 7pm deadline.

Three Manchester United players could still leave the club this summer despite the summer transfer window closing.

The window officially shut on Monday at 7pm, with United attempting to complete moves on both incoming and outgoing fronts.

Ruben Amorim's side have had a difficult summer, despite shelling out around £200 million combined on attackers Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.

But a new midfielder evaded the Portuguese boss, while United also failed to strengthen in defence either.

A new goalkeeper became the top priority for United after Amorim dropped Andre Onana and replaced him with backup shot-stopper Altay Bayindir.

The club agreed a £18.2 million deal to sign Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, but a deal sheet had to be submitted to finalise the deal beyond 7pm and an announcement could be made on Tuesday.

In terms of outgoings, Marcus Rashford left for Barcelona on loan, while the club managed to move on Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea after Amorim and club staff had, as per the Manchester Evening News, developed key concerns over his attitude.

However, other players could yet depart - despite the transfer window being closed.

While all of Europe's top five leagues see their windows close at either 7pm or, in the case of La Liga, 10:59pm on Monday, the Saudi Pro League transfer window remains open until September 10.

Turkish Super Lig clubs, meanwhile, can still finalise incoming deals until September 11.

And albeit an unlikely destination for United players, the Qatar Stars League window remains open until September 16.

That could open the door for Amorim to solve his goalkeeping depth issue, with Lammens set to join Onana, Bayindir and Tom Heaton as senior options between the sticks.

Onana was linked with a move to newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Neom earlier this summer, and the Daily Mail report that an exit for the Cameroon goalkeeper 'cannot be ruled out'.

The shot-stopper may also have one eye on next year's Africa Cup of Nations if he is to be told that Lammens will become United's new number one.

Bayindir left Fenerbahce to join United in the summer of 2023 and a move back to Turkey remains an option with their transfer window still open.

And the third player who could yet depart is left-back Tyrell Malacia - the only member of United's five-strong 'bomb squad' of unwanted players not to seal a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Rashford, Garnacho and Antony all got moves away from the club before the deadline, while Jadon Sancho's loan move to Aston Villa is still to be finalised.

As per The Athletic, La Liga side Elche attempted to sign Malacia on loan on deadline day but the move fell through, with Saudi Arabia and Turkey looking likely to represent the best of the Dutchman's options for a last-minute move.
