Manchester United have reportedly ‘agreed’ to let a player leave the club despite the English transfer window having already shut.
On September 1, the English transfer window slammed shut after what was a truly entertaining summer of deals.
United’s arch-rivals Liverpool spent a record £446m on stars such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and a British record £125m on Alexander Isak.
Overall, Premier League clubs spent a combined £3.19bn to bolster their squads, eclipsing the previous record.

And United were among the big spenders.
The Red Devils spent around £215m on the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens this summer, while Antony, Marcus Rashford (loan), Rasmus Hojlund (loan) and Alejandro Garnacho departed Old Trafford.

And just when Ruben Amorim thought he knew who he’d be working with until the January window, the club have reportedly agreed to let a player leave on loan.

As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has yet to feature in the Premier League this term, has been the subject of an approach from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Romano wrote on X: “Trabzonspor reach verbal agreement with Manchester United to sign André Onana on loan. Club-to-club verbal agreement in place, and final decision now up to Onana. It’s only up to the goalkeeper.”
Onana has endured a tough time at United since arriving from Inter in 2023.
Several high-profile errors have caused Amorim to give usual second-choice Altay Bayindir an opportunity in the first three league fixtures of the 2025/26 campaign, limiting the Cameroon international to a solitary appearance against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup second round.

Onana is contracted to United until June 2028.
What should Andre Onana expect at Trabzonspor?
Well, it’s well documented that Turkish supporters are passionate about their football clubs.
The two biggest clubs, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, hail from the nation’s capital of Istanbul and often compete in European competition, while Besiktas are also widely supported in the city.

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor are based in the Northeast city of Trabzon. And if he completes his loan, Onana will link up with several former Premier League players.
Ex-Manchester City defender Stefan Savic and former Southampton striker Paul Onuachu currently play for the side.

Previously, former Everton, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest striker Kevin Campbell enjoyed a brief period at Trabzonspor between 1998 and 1999, and it’s fair to say moving to Turkey was a culture shock.

Speaking to the Daily Star in 2023, Campbell revealed that local journalists would even rate players’ performances in training sessions.
Campbell said: “You'd get marked for your performances in training, in five-a-side games, and they'd end up in the newspaper; that's how close the press were to everything.
"If we played any practice games, you'd get marked; there'd be a double-page spread on the game. In the papers, the team got five pages, a day! So they had to fill them with something! If you did great in a five-a-side game, there'd be this massive headline in the paper the next day!”
