Manchester United fan Frank Ilett has addressed claims that he's earned millions from his viral hair-related stunt.
Ilett, who has built a significant following through his social media channel The United Strand, promised on October 5, 2024, that he would only cut his hair when United recorded five victories in a row.
He witnessed a close shave in October 2025, when they recorded three wins on the trot under previous manager Ruben Amorim.
But almost 500 days after starting the challenge and Ilett is just one victory away from a much-needed trip to the barbers, after United picked up wins over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham.

United's win streak will extend to five if they manage to overcome West Ham at the London Stadium on Tuesday night.

Ilett, who will host a YouTube livestream on Tuesday that is set to feature special guest appearances, averages six-figure views on his TikTok channel, and often accumulates thousands of comments across his channels.
However, the 29-year-old has played down suggestions that he has earned millions from the stunt.
āIām definitely not the millionaire that some people think I am. Thereās been a lot of talk about making millions, but that isnāt the case," he told The Sun. āItās not as well paid as some people think. But thatās not why I started it in the first place.ā
Frank also revealed that he will donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, a UK charity providing wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.
āIām also doing a fundraiser for them," he said. "I think weāve raised about Ā£6,000 for them so far. Itās a really great charity, with great people there too. The length of my hair is 25cm now, which is thankfully long enough to be able to donate.ā
Since starting the challenge, Ilett has worked with numerous brands, including Paddy Power, Adobe and Argos.
In fact, the 29-year-old has signed a partnership deal with Argos, who have made Ilett their "Official Delivery Partner" so they can provide him with hair supplies if United manage to beat West Ham.
"Weāve followed Frankās story and can sympathise with the fact that, when the moment comes, he will want a trim delivered as swiftly as humanly possible after what feels like a long wait," said Harry Boughton, the Director of Buying at Argos.
"With Argos Fast Track delivery, weāll make sure the kit gets to him faster than he can say āfive wins in a rowā when heās finally ready for the chop.ā
Ilett added: āI am buzzing to think that I might be parted from my barnet before too long. The hair is heavy, I canāt lie, my nerves tonight will be jangling, but at least I know that the kit is ready. I just hope the team can deliver as efficiently as Argos does.ā
