Manchester United will reportedly look to sell three players in January if Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in control of footballing operations.

Ineos founder Ratcliffe could complete his £1.3 billion buy-in for 25 per cent of the club as early as Monday.

The 71-year-old is keen to overhaul United's sporting structure after a decade of what's been deemed as mismanagement.

Chief executive Richard Arnold and director of football John Murtough are at risk after several failures in the transfer market.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, United have spent £1.4 billion on players but haven't won the Premier League title.

Per The Sun, Ratcliffe will give current manager Erik ten Hag more time despite a poor start to the season. Ten Hag guided United to a third-place finish last season and won the Carabao Cup, the Red Devils' first trophy in six years.

However, he's ready to shake up the squad as early as the winter transfer window.

Among the players who could be axed are Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Antony.

Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 and is one of the longest-serving players at Old Trafford.

Despite arriving to much fanfare with an ambitious Ballon d'Or clause in his contract, the 27-year-old has failed to live up to expectations.

His contract expires in the summer, and United will be desperate to recoup any funds.

Sancho has been in exile since a public dispute with Ten Hag about his efforts in training.

Ten Hag publicly criticised the winger following a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in September, which Sancho responded to on Twitter.

He's since deleted the tweet, in which he called himself a 'scapegoat', but refuses to apologise to his manager.

It's claimed former side Borussia Dortmund are interested in Sancho, who still looks on his time in Germany fondly.

The final player is Antony, who United paid a whopping £86 million for in 2022.

He's struggled this season and is yet to score or register an assist.

Antony was recently linked with a move to Flamengo, with Gabriel Barbosa moving in the opposite direction.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano shot that down and said there is no imminent deal for the Brazil international to return to his home country.
