Man Utd players make their minds up on Jadon Sancho as squad exile takes another twist

Manchester United players appear to have made their stance on Jadon Sancho's ongoing issues with manager Erik ten Hag clear.

Sancho has been banished from the first-team squad since September after refusing to apologise to Ten Hag in a row over his efforts in training.

Ten Hag publicly criticised the 23-year-old following September's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, which Sancho responded to on social media by claiming he had been made a 'scapegoat'.

He's since deleted the tweet but has refused to apologise - publicly or privately - to the Dutch coach.

A January exit has been described as '99.9% likely' by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, two years after joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in a £73 million move.

It's previously been claimed other members of the United squad are upset with Ten Hag's treatment of Sancho, with the winger's exile even preventing him from using first-team facilities at Carrington.

The latest news from the United camp appears to have put that rumour to bed.

Per The Sun, Sancho has been removed from a WhatsApp group which includes first-team players and coaching staff.

Ten Hag uses the messaging platform to communicate with players, and the decision to remove Sancho all but seals his fate.

After seeing Ten Hag's claims at the Emirates Stadium, Sancho tweeted: "I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I conducted myself in training very well this week."

United are currently eighth in the Premier League table after a last-gasp 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal of the game to ease the mounting pressure on Ten Hag.

Club captain Fernandes has been criticised for his performances this season, as well as his attitude during last month's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Ten Hag publicly backed the midfielder in his post-match interview.

When asked about the calls for Fernandes to be stripped of the captaincy, Ten Hag said: "I don’t understand why. Everyone has their mistakes, no one is perfect. But always when he plays he gives energy.

He is an example. You see the way he is pressing and counter‑pressing, his recovery. He always wants the ball, he wants to create.

|In this week we were definitely not happy with our standards. Today we improved a little bit, but to win every game you have to bring that level, show you are hungry and passionate inside. When we bring that we will have very good results."
