Aston Villa Make Jadon Sancho Decision After Two Matches

Villa have already made their minds up about Sancho's future.

Aston Villa have already made a decision over Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho after two games, it has been reported.

Sancho signed for Villa on deadline day after being placed in Manchester United's 'bomb squad'.

He spent last season on loan at Chelsea but the Conference League winners chose not to trigger his buy option, instead paying United a £5 million penalty fee.

Having played no part in pre-season under Ruben Amorim, Villa have slowly introduced him into their first team.

He started Villa's penalty shootout defeat to Brentford in the Carabao Cup, before an encouraging nine-minute cameo appearance in the 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Saturday.

According to National World, manager Unai Emery and Villa bosses have already been suitably encouraged by Sancho and are planning to offer him a permanent contract next summer.

The Midlands club are paying 80 per cent of Sancho's wages during his loan spell, as well as a loan fee, but did not insert a buy option into the deal.

Villa's other deadline day loan signing, Harvey Elliott, will sign permanently from Liverpool as long as he plays five matches for the club, meaning more focus can be placed on sealing a move for Sancho.

The option to buy in his loan contract with Chelsea was worth £25 million.

His contract at United expires this summer, but the Old Trafford club have an option to extend it by a year.

Whether United trigger that option in order to get a fee, or whether they simply allow Sancho to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of June, remains to be seen.

The 25-year-old earns over £200,000-per-week at Manchester United.

Villa's current highest earner, according to Capology, is goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on £150,000-per-week, meaning Sancho may have to take a pay cut in order to make a permanent move to Villa Park.

However, he will have the rest of the season to prove to Emery and Villa that he can become a key player for the club from next season and beyond.
