Jadon Sancho's time in the Premier League may not yet be over ahead of his departure from Manchester United as a free agent this summer.

After a long five-year spell that has been nothing short of a complete disaster for both parties, Sancho will finally leave Manchester United upon the expiration of his contract in June.

The Englishman joined United from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021 for a reported transfer fee of £73million, penning a five-year contract with the option of a further year.

Since then, Sancho has made just 83 appearances for United, with a total 5,001 minutes, scoring 12 goals and assisting six.

Throughout most of his United tenure Sancho has been sent on loan to other clubs, with spells playing for former club Dortmund, Chelsea and, most recently, Aston Villa.

And with United deciding against offering Sancho a new contract, it has been reported that Sancho hopes that he will be able to stay with Aston Villa next season, having enjoyed his time with the Birmingham club this season.

Sancho made 39 appearances of Unai Emery's side this season, scoring one goal and assisting three, and Villa are believed to be interested in negotiating a cut-price deal for the winger when he becomes a free agent.

"It’s my team-mates and my manager that have been giving me that confidence and belief," Sancho recently told TNT Sports about his time at Villa..

"My team-mates have been very good to me. I feel like I can do more because I know myself. But apart from that, I’m just happy that the team is doing well, and we’re in a good position."

Four Premier League sides set to battle for Jadon Sancho

But Villa aren't the only Premier League side believed to be interested in signing Sancho as a free agent in the summer as SportsBoom report that both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are also believed to be monitoring his situation.

On top of this, the report claims that Brentford have already made initial enquiries with the winger over a deal to join once his contract with United expires next month.

Ultimately, it is believed that any agreement with Villa, which is believed to be Sancho's first choice, or any other club will rely on him agreeing to reduce his previously sizeable wage demands.

As part of his United contract, it is understood that Sancho earned a salary of £10.4million for the 2025-2026 Season, or £200,000 per week, excluding bonuses.

Of course, having secured Champions League football this could be possible for Villa, but it's likely that they will not feel that a player who isn't a regular starter deserves to continue as the club's highest earner.
