Jamie Vardy could be preparing for a spectacular Premier League return after it was revealed he would be leaving Cremonese this summer.
After scoring his 200th goal for Leicester City in his 500th appearance for the club during a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town in May last year, Vardy called time on his career with the Foxes.
The Englishman remains one of Leicester's best-ever players but, following their relegation to the championship, he left to join Seire A side Cremonese ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Vardy joined the Italian side on a free transfer in September 2025, going on to registering seven goals and three assists in 29 Serie A appearances, accumulating a total of 2,108 minutes on the pitch.

But it wasn't enough to save Cremonese from the drop, as the club finished with just 34 points from eight wins, 10 draws, and 20 defeats, meaning they have been relegated to Serie B.
Vardy's contract with the Italian side means he has an option to extend his stay in Lombardy for another season, but their relegation has reportedly led to him planning an exit.
And if Vardy is to leave, it is believed that various Premier League clubs already believed to be exploring a potential deal for the veteran striker.
During his time in the Premier League, Vardy scored 145 goals and provided 50 assists in 342 matches in the top-flight and holds the record as the oldest player to win the Golden Boot, having done so in 2016.
Although it is not known exactly which clubs are eyeing up a move for Vardy, it has been reported that he's already in talks with some clubs over a spectacular return.
As it stands, League One side Sheffield Wednesday are the odds-on favourites to sign Vardy as a free agent this summer after he played for the club as a teenager before being released at the age of 16 and without making a professional appearance.
And if he decides against returning to England, the BBC has reported that Dutch side Feyenoord is among the other clubs to have shown interest this summer.
Will Jamie Vardy retire after leaving Cremonese?
With Vardy's 40th birthday to come in January, many would assume that he could simply call time on his career and enjoy some stepping away from the pitch.
However, in an interview with SPORTbible earlier this month, Vardy revealed he has no plans to retire just yet.
"While my legs are still saying they're fine, I'll carry on," he said.
"But there will come a time when the legs say 'this ain't happening anymore' and that's when I definitely need to call it quits."
And when he does retire, he has no plans to step into anything else football-related, as he knows exactly what he will be doing post-career.
"The main thing for me is, you sacrifice so much during a football career on things you miss out. And I think when it comes to, I'm finished with football side of things, I want to make sure that I can spend some quality time with my wife and kids," he said.
"It's something that I've missed - big chunks of them growing up at different ages and things like that. So I don't want to be missing anymore.
“The kids, they love coming to watch me play football, and it's a real enjoyment for them."
