Sir Alex Ferguson's most used XI during his Man Utd career sees some huge names miss out

Sir Alex Ferguson's most used XI during his Man Utd career sees some huge names miss out

Ferguson was Man Utd manager for 26 years.

A list of Sir Alex Ferguson's most used players during his time as Man Utd manager has emerged.

Ferguson managed United for 26 years before retiring in 2013, winning a whopping 38 trophies during his time at Old Trafford.

Among the legendary Scot's finest achievements are 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two Champions Leagues.

He built several teams that dominated world football, adapting to how football changed and refusing to be left behind.

Ferguson previously claimed he only managed four world-class players during his managerial career. Despite that, he had his favourites.

Twitter user StatmanDave decided to compile the stars Ferguson used most by position to build his ultimate team.

Interestingly, only one player from overseas has managed to feature. 10 of the 11 players are from the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, showing how much football has changed since Ferguson stepped away a decade ago. Check out the entire list below.

Four members of Ferguson's 'Class Of 92' feature in the form of Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and David Beckham.

Speaking at an event last year, the 81-year-old said: “People talk about the great players was had in my time; Bryan Robson, [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Eric] Cantona, Scholes, Giggs. But honestly, those young players created the spirit of Manchester United in my time, absolutely no doubt about that. They were a breath of fresh air.”
