A contingent of Manchester United players disagree with Erik ten Hag's decision to banish Jadon Sancho, it has been claimed.

United announced earlier this month that the 23-year-old will be training away from the side amid a "squad discipline issue".

Indeed, Sancho had hit out at Ten Hag after the Dutchman publicly cited his performances in training as the reason he had not made the squad for the Old Trafford club's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

The England international took to social media to refute Ten Hag's comments, adding he had been made a "scapegoat".

Having refused to apologise to the United boss, Sancho is now sidelined for an indeterminate period of time.

And talkSPORT has claimed that a group of United first team stars disagree with Ten Hag's decision to banish Jadon Sancho from the squad.

The publications claim follows a report from the Manchester Evening News that alleged that several United players are starting to grow weary of Ten Hag's criticism as they struggle to arrest their dismal form. United have lost three of the first five Premier League games as well as their Champions League Group A opener against Bayern Munich.

And Manchester Evening News' "dressing room sources" claimed that some players believe Ten Hag has favourites in the squad who he is unprepared to single out for criticism, while they feel others are frequently that subject of the United manager's complaints.

On whether Sancho would play again for the club, Ten Hag said: "It depends on him. For the rest, we are preparing for Burnley and that's our focus. He will not be in the squad."

He added, amid reports of dressing room unrest: "I don't know if it's a leak but I know opinion, I know my players. Everyone can make suggestions, we are okay with it.

"At United, you have to win every game so it doesn't change anything. As always, it's about how we play against Burnley, there's no easy game, definitely not against Burnley."
