If previous deals are anything to go by, then Manchester United will be expected to insert a clause into Benjamin Sesko's contract that would see his wages significantly reduced if a scenario plays out.
After weeks of speculation surrounding his future, it appears Benjamin Sesko is on the verge of joining United from RB Leipzig after the Slovenian striker reached a total agreement with the club regarding personal terms.
A five-year contract has been agreed between United and Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano, who suggests the striker's preference is to join the ranks at Old Trafford amid strong interest from Newcastle.

It is said talks are ongoing regarding a transfer fee, but widespread reports claim the Reds have made a proposal worth €75 million plus €10 million, shortly after Newcastle tabled an offer of €75 million plus €5 million in add-ons.
It is unclear how much Sesko would earn at United as details continue to emerge regarding his contract, but the club typically include a clause that sees a player's wage cut by 25 per cent if they don't qualify for the Champions League.
Last year, a report from The Athletic suggested the majority of United players receive a 25 per cent wage cut if they fail to qualify for Europe's elite competition.

So, what happens if they manage to secure Champions League football? Ahead of last season's Europa League final against Spurs, it emerged that Ruben Amorim and his squad were in line for a 25 per cent salary hike.
That could well change ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, but The Telegraph claimed United's players would have landed a pay increase that was expected to total more than £30 million if they secured a place in the Champions League.
Of course, that never happened as Spurs came out 1-0 winners.
Back in the summer of 2022, it was claimed that Ronaldo was left 'upset' by a 25 per cent wage cut after Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League.
When he penned a deal at Old Trafford, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner agreed a £480,000-a-week contract with the club, but the following season, he earned a salary of £360,000 as United featured in the Europa League.
Ronaldo had also 'grown impatient' with their response to a disastrous season, according to the Manchester Evening News.
