Next Man Utd manager odds: Two clear favourites emerge as pressure grows on Erik ten Hag after Chelsea defeat

Erik ten Hag is under increasing pressure at Manchester United.

Two clear favourites to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United have emerged after the Red Devils’ defeat by Chelsea.

On Thursday night, despite coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2, United capitulated in the closing stages as Cole Palmer scored twice to win the match 4-3 for Chelsea.

It is yet another poor result for United after they were denied all three points by a late Brentford equaliser last weekend at the Gtech Community Stadium.

On the back of the defeat, Ten Hag’s men sit 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa as their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League took another hit.

Pressure is also starting to mount on Ten Hag again as United’s season as a whole, has been bitterly disappointing.

According to the latest odds from Sky Bet, there are two clear favourites to replace the Dutchman.

Current England boss Gareth Southgate is the favourite after being priced at 2/1.

Southgate is closely followed by former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter, who is 5/2 to become United’s next permanent manager.

After the above-mentioned duo, the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim are all priced at 10/1 or less.

Here are the latest odds on who could become United’s next manager, odds are correct at the time of writing:

Gareth Southgate - 2/1

Graham Potter - 5/2

Thomas Tuchel - 8/1

Roberto De Zerbi - 10/1

Ruben Amorim - 10/1

Julen Lopetegui - 12/1

Julian Nagelsmann - 12/1

Thomas Frank - 16/1

Zinedine Zidane - 16/1

Kieran McKenna - 20/1

Simone Inzaghi - 20/1

Jose Mourinho - 25/1

Michael Carrick - 25/1

United will have the chance to put things right this weekend when they welcome fierce rivals and title-chasing Liverpool to Old Trafford in what is billed to be a mouth-watering Premier League clash.
