Manchester United have reportedly opened talks over the surprise signing of a Premier League star following his exit from the World Cup.
United are set for a busy summer and have already agreed a £35 million deal for Brazil and Atlanta midfielder Ederson.
The Red Devils were said to be pushing hard to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes but were unwilling to pay the club's asking price and allowed Spurs to secure his services for a club-record £85 million fee.
But United are still looking for further reinforcements and according to Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk, they hold a strong interest in Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr.

Sarr fits the bill and United have made contact with Sarr's representatives about a potential summer switch.
The former Watford man had the best season of his career in 2025/26, scoring 20 goals in all competitions as Palace won the UEFA Conference League in Leipzig.
He won Palace's Player of the Season after nine goals in the Premier League and garnered attention from United as a result.
But an impressive World Cup campaign for Senegal has elevated his stock further.
Sarr played in a central role for Pape Thiaw's side, scoring four goals and registering one assist.
Senegal reached the round of 32 after qualifying as one of the top-ranked third place teams and led 2-0 against Belgium until the dying embers when Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans struck to force extra time.
A controversial Tielemans penalty eliminated Senegal, who saw midfielder Pape Gueye immediately announce his retirement from international football.
With Casemiro leaving for Inter Miami on a free transfer and Manuel Ugarte on the sidelined for a lengthy period after suffering knee ligament damage while in action for Uruguay, midfield is a priority area to strengthen in for United.
However, the club still wish to add another attacker to the ranks to compete with the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Recent recruitment from Premier League clubs has worked, with Cunha and Mbeumo both hitting double figures in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr stance as Man United open talks
Sarr joined Palace in 2024, replacing Michael Olise after he departed for Bayern Munich. The Eagles paid £15 million to Marseille to land Sarr, who also helped Palace win the FA Cup and Community Shield under Oliver Glasner.
He has three years on his contract at Selhurst Park, giving Palace plenty of power in negotiations.
According to the report, Palace would expect to receive triple what they paid for Sarr two years and possibly even more giving the current market.
Serie A side Juventus are also understood to be keen on Sarr, who has 23 goals in 87 caps for Senegal.
